It should fit a 2007 as nothing really changed between 2007 and 2008. If you have a headlight brow right now (similar to all sportsters) that means you have the holes where the mount bolts onto.

i installed mine on an 09 custom. it should fit your 07, but call them. i spoke to them directly and they were very helpful over the phone. also, if the 07 custom has a bottom mount headlight the bottom portion of the speedo with the headlight relocation mount WILL NOT FIT OR WoRK with you stock headlight.
You have 3 options: buy a headlight that mounts with a single bolt through the the top; run the speedo without the bottom; or, do what i did, buy 1/4" plexiglass and fabricate your own bottom with a dremel tool. I used plexiglass b/c I don't have the tools to fabricate metal. I used rattle can plastic primer and satin black paint to finish it off. I used the stock bolts and held it all together with chrome acorn nuts. It looks great, like it came that way.

Thanks for the info, I am very seriously considering this mod!

Your 09 custom did not have a headlight brow, right?

So you just fabricated a flat plexiglass piece as a bottom cover? Were the lights hard to do (I know the dummy lights on custom models look a little different from those on the nightster)?

right. the 09 custom doesn't have a headlight brow. the light has a bracket that bottom mounts to a metal block. as far as the idiot lights go, rsd sells the entire cluster of lights for about $65-69. they are led and you cut the wires from the harness your current idiot lights, match the wire colors on the rsd cluster and solder, or use connectors, to keep them together. i soldered. they work perfectly and it is easy b/c the wire colors match up. i don't know whether or not the led idiot lights are compatible with an 07.

yes. i just traced out the shape and holes for the bottom screw the trip meter button and cut an additional slot for the speedo wires to come out the back. it was a little bit of a PITA, but not too bad. just took my time and kept comparing it to the mount until it was even.

i will say the set up is sweet. and all things considering, it is not too over the top expensive. i looked at the joker machine fork mount, but wasn't convinced there would be good visibility given the size of the custom tank and i like the look of the rsd better. good luck.

Why is it that you couldn't use the bottom piece that came with the RSD kit? Does it have a headlight block hanging off the bottom? Could you cut it off?

I ask because I am considering the chrome RSD kit, and obvously I can't chrome a piece of plexi to match it.

The headlight bolt mounts to the bottom of the speedo mount throught a curverd channel cut into a covex curve formed into the bottom itself. The curved channel allows you to move the bolted headlight to adjust the angle of the headlight. The covex curve can't be cut out. If i can find the bottom piece from mine i'll take a pictue and post it for you.

If you want chrome, your best bet is probably a new headlight that mounts up w/ a single bolt and nut. Someone else might have a better solution, but there is not enough clearance to use the bottom of the rsd speedo and leave the custom stock headlight mounted to the metal block, and the headlight relocator on the rsd is not designed to work with the bracket found on the stock custom headlight.

Default RSD LED Indicators

Hi there,

I am fairly new to customising my bike (2011 Iron) so please bear with me. I have recently bought the RSD Relocator kit with the LED lights and am now wondering how to connect the lights. Anybody want to give me a short explanation please? As the instructions that come with the package are not that great!

Cheers!
