were you able to mount it directly to the frame with the kit they gave you? or did you have to fab your own bracket? i'm liking the way the bike looks without the spring...also does it cover the hole under the seat completely or did you still have to make a separate cover?

Hey Malingerer...What type of handle bars do you have on that Iron..I think those are the ones I want. And second question, I went into the harley dealership and they said that I couldn't get those white wall tires on my bike. No one makes them for my size? What the deuce?? I really like your bike btw

I only used the kit that they provided. I did drill two holes in order to mount it directly to the frame. And yes, it covered the hole under the seat completely.

Just installed mine on my '99 last night and what a PITA to get those springs on both the seat and then the bracket! But after some brute force and ignorance me and my friend got it done. I notice the bolt/nut kit that comes with it seems to be in excess of what is needed and also I got a bracket of some sort left over which I didn't need and couldn't find anywhere for it to go, maybe it was sent in error. Will try to get some pics this evening in the daylight but for now here's one I took when we finished up after 12am

The website says " SPRINGS AND MOUNTING BRACKET W/HARDWARE INCLUDED"

I have a 2010 Iron. Is this going to be a direct bolt on??
Thanks in advance.

Well the stock seat gives a better ride for sure... but doesnt look near as good IMO! Its really not too bad once you get used to it... I just pay more attention to pot holes and things like that so my a$$ wont fly off the seat!
