What happens when you try to shift into first? Can you shift into all the other gears?

Have you tried a shifter adjustment?

mine sticks every once in awhile, I usually bump it up into third and then shift back down through and it goes right in, but it doesn't happen very often. If it won't go in at all, and your shifter has plenty of clearance when you're shifting, it might be time to pull the gears for a quick look.
