Why don't you toss some adjustable highway pegs on the engine guard? Would make for one heck of a comfy ride on them longer trips....and a cheap mod at that.

You may be surprised. I'm only 5'8" and I can reach highway pegs on Street Glides and Road Glides........
Remember the highway pegs are completely adjustable.(How high or low on the engine guard and the angle they come back to the rider at) To test and see if you could reach, have someone stand infront of the bike while you are on it and balance it upright. Then reach your legs forward and if the fronts of your feet come within an inch or two of any part of the engine guard....you would be able to reach fine.
