I ordered my seat to fit a 4.5 gallon tank in order to not scuff the back of my 3.3 gallon tank....that might be your issue

Cool

I've herd this before,,
Like Storm said lots of ppL orderd the 4.5 gal tank seat for the peanut tank bikes,,,they get a little space.

I would not re drill the rear bolt area,,that will pull the front tang back
Possibly to the point It could come out on a nasty bump.

My seat Is In full contact with the tank,,no paint rub off yet,,been over a year.
Pics show my 4.5 gal tank an stang:::::

The Mustang company will swap you if you so choose,,,

FYI the seat does "Break In" but only a little change.
The way I noticed mine was broken in was only when I sat on a freinds bran spankin new one.

I just purchased the same seat for my 07 883 low. It also has some small wrinkles. There is no evidence of rubbing the tank that I can see. I like the seat so much better I am not concerned.

Yea my *** is much happier too.

I purchased a Mustang Solo (12.5 wide) at the end of last riding season and didnt get a chance to test it out till recently. What a difference! I have gone through so many seats and I should have taken people's advice from the start and bought the Mustang. Now I can ride and not even think about my butt.

Although mine is on a 4.5 gal tank I can't imagine that is right. Like Osco I added the fender bib, it is worth the bucks.

I wish I had known this beforehand. This could've probably made the difference.
