My 2007 XL50 had the HD egine gaurde and forwards and there is on issues at all.
Thanks. My concern is only on the side where my pipes are. All pipe setups are different and mine happen to be very close to where I "think" the engine guard will be. I guess the only way to tell is to try and see if it works. I already bought it, so if it doesn't work I will soon have a HD brand engine guard for sale.

On my 2007 The guard is far way from the front pipe, i was looking at the pic of your bike and you shuld be just fine with your pipe set up. You have to understand that most guards curve forward alot so it's not like thye come right down from the mounting points.

Exactly what I was going to say. I just installed one on my 2008 XL1200C (with forward controls) 2 days ago. The engine guard curves away and leaves plenty of room for the controls and pipes.
