Yeah.... It's a pretty personal choice, whatever you're more comfortable in ! ( I wear a Shoei full face helmet with a tinted visor)

On my sleds I wear a full face & love it. On my bike I only have worn a full face once & it was 1 degree Celsius. That's 32.5 F for our southern neighbors. Definitely was warmer but I hated it. Couldn't see well enough for me.

I wear a HJC half helmet that has the zip off ear flaps which comes in very handy. Not really a cool helmet as it looks somewhat like a mushroom on my melon but it works & is DOT approved.
I know my chances of getting even uglier are better with this style of helmet. I also know my odds of crash survival are for better in my truck than on my bike, but weather permitting I would take the bike any day.
Go with whatever you are comfortable with.

I wear a SHOEI RF-1100...it's very comfortable! Safety is a priority for me as I have family....plus I don't want leather skin as I age! lol

I've seen modular helmets at motorcycle stores and many of them were broken...I've heard that if it was up or back that the wind catches it often....they are expensive but the quality is lacking IMO if it's that easy to break them while sitting on the shelf....

FULMER V2....snug, classic look, simple and $100

Jockey NON DOT lid....rock it backwards, dirt cheap, LOOKS REALLY COOL!!! but if you go down your pretty much done haha

stay away from the modulars...to many moving pieces on a helmet is never a good thing...just keep it simple and save some dough for parts!!!

Lick's 3/4 DOT Helmet. Minimal shroom look and light as hell. I love this helmet and it was only $80 new.

My biggest problem with HJC helmet is the one I had while it was cheap fogged up like nuts. To the point where I was always opening the visor. I think I had the low end model, but I bought an even cheaper helmet (Exo-400) and have had no such problem.

The exo400 has so much more padding in it as well. Just feel safer with it on.

Nolan N-103 is a great helmet or Shark Evoline Series 2
2-in-1 helmet converts from a full-face helmet to an open-face and back again

i second the lick's novdot 3/4. it's light, snug and safe, and you don't look like a bubble head.

i don't think you are supposed to ride with the face flipped up.

If you want to look cool on the ride less is better. If you want to look cool after a spill more is better. Your bean you decide what is important.
