My riding buddy swears by his crampbuster... and tells me i gotta have one. anyone here ride with that thing? seems that it could make sense on the big road, but doesnt it get in the way around town? ... if you have one, what do you think?
if you havent seen one before, i just found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsEdD05zFxk
I had one when I used to ride metrics long time ago.
It's easy to put on, but I found that it gets in the way most of the time
esp if you wear gloves. It catches my jacket sleeve and the cuffs of the gloves. I took it off.
I personally love it, lets the palm of your hand do most of the work, gives you more leverage and eliminates fatigue in your wrist, great on long rides when you can't use the cc.
I have one, it does help relax your grip some so your hand doesn't fatigue as easy. Around town I find it not so useful, I just rotate it forward so it doesn't get in the way. There are 2 types, the regular and the wide, I use the regular.
I would recommend it if you like riding long distances.

so maybe just take it off around town? my buddy has a wide one and he seems to use his even around town- it sounds like a great idea for road trips. sounds like I better try this thing out!
I use it on both bikes, use them everywhere. Started using them when I had a flareup of arthritis in 08, still using them.

took mine off. It got in the way and I never used it.
Either way, I bet the crampbuster guys are making a sh*t load of money on people that love AND hate it.
