Is there much difference in the power of the 96 vs the 883. I mean which is quicker?

 

Its gonna depend on what bike the 96 is in. I think the lightest BT is a Super glide, not sure but i think a stock SG would take a Stock 883.

 

96 Dyna is definitely faster. I've ridden both the 96 and the 883.

 

What a stage 1 1200?

 

96 is faster than a 883. If you want to be faster upgrade your 883 to a 1200 right. 10:1 compression pistons,hotter cam, and rejet carb and no ignition changes. This can be done as cheap as $1000. You will put about 75 hp and 75 ft lbs torque to the wheels. Power to wieght baby and say bye bye. If you want to be the fastest and say bye bye to reiablity there are ways to make 110 hp and 120 ft-lbs. Dawm!
