Ignition interuption
Hello,
I have a 91 Sportster with a remanned 883, now a 1200. During the first 5 minutes after a cold start the engine just quits for 10 to 15 seconds, if i have sufficient speed up it will backfire a few times and then restart. Sometimes I roll to a complete stop and then after cranking it a while it will restart. Then it will usually run fine until the next cold start up. Sometimes it does it twice. It seems to me it must be an ignition problem, hence the backfiring.
Anybody know what's up with this?
Thanks

Try running the first 10-15 minutes with the choke out just a little....mine did that and that helped a lot. I can see about 1/4" of shaft on the choke. I usually go 10 minutes then push it in and it's good for the day.
