So I was riding earlier this week and I laid by bike down on a slick bit of road. (Let the torrent of stupid comments start!) Luckily I am fine and the bike is fine besides from a few scratches that I can just touch up with a little black paint, except for one of my rear tail lights.
That side tail light housing is now bent so it is not a circular, but now a oval and the red fitter cap does not fit right on it and water can get in to that area. Does anyone know where/if I can buy a new rear tail light housing/module so I can replace the old bent one on my '09 Sportster?
I havn't been to my dealer yet to ask about trying to get this part, but I thought I would ask all of you first.
Should be able to look the part number here: http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....m_oem/hdmc.asp
Just select the year, then the model, look up the part and it'll give the part number when you add it to your cart. You don't have to buy or give any info.
For more expensive parts a generally buy from http://shop.zanottimotor.com/content/search-part-number. For cheaper parts, any savings is lost on shipping and you might as well by it from your local dealer.
Once you have the part number, search ebay, you might get lucky.
You can use ANY Harley rear bullet style signal and just use the 3 wire guts from yours. You can also use ANY front bullet style but the threads are different. Same size bolt, just a different TPI.
