I have a battery and oil tank cover from an '08 I am willing to let go to someone in need. The person can have them for the postage. The are in very good condition and stock black. The bezel on the oil tank would need to be purchased; moco didn't send it, as promised, with my painted covers.

This is what I did:
remove the whole assembly, put it together, then drill two holes making sure it the hole goes through both pieces... like this:
then use either large paper clips, thick steel wire, hardware store clips, stainless steel nails.. etc to lock the latching mechanism in place:
