I have an HD Xl1200R with EFI. I just bought a new gas tank(I hated the peanut one) for it. I was wondering if anyone could help me with installing the new one. Secrets, tips, comments, concerns?
If you're swapping from 3.3 gal (peanut tank) to 4.5 gal tank, you will need the EFI green gasket part number:75301-07.
This will replace the old gasket between the tank and EFI module. Other than that you should be able to reuse the same tank hardware
(nuts and bolts).
I recommend emptying your tank completely prior to removal. (I used the siphon method) Good Luck and let us know how it went.

Afraid I can't give any help on this. Actually I would like to know if there's anyway or tank, that is like the newer 4.5 and can be put on a 2000 883 Custom? I'd like to have longer run time on my bike as I love to take trips on it.
