About 40mph is as fast as mine will go. I push down on the foot lever and give it full throttle, but it won't get over 40 or so. I tried pushing down again on that lever, but I suppose it only has that 1 gear. I tried pulling up on it but that green "N" light came on, that yellow picture of a motor lit up, and it started slowing down, so I pushed it back down and kept going. H-D should put more gears in the Sportsters.
So I just ride around full throttle at about 40 most of the time. Exhaust is really loud, but it sounds totally awesome. Just wish the engine didn't rattle so bad and get so hot really quickly.
Seriously, about 85 is fast enough for this old guy. Gets a little wobbly and the wind about blows me off the bike, and besides, I don't really want a reckless driving ticket.
You know, after posting earlier, I got to thinking. It dawned on me, I've never checked my tire pressure. I pulled out the tire guage, and sure enough, the rear tire only had 40lb's. 40lb's = 40mph. Duh! I can be such a dumbass sometimes.
So I pumped it up to 100lb's and tomorrow I'm gonna go really fast like you guys do.
