Default Changing Brake Pads

I"m about to change the brake pads on my 09 iron 883 this weekend.

I have the service manual and the instructions that come with the new pads, but any advice or tips any of you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I ran into this when I wanted some info:

Looks like this guy goes all out and removes everything and cleans it but the service manual actually recommends NOT doing that.

In any case, vidoes are helpful so definitely check out Youtube or other video sites if that helps.

My only tip be to make sure the beer is at 36* or so, and the stripper you order to dance around while you change'em out is HOT, as it's an easy job.

I went to pull my pads off today to inspect them and found I needed a 5mm allen wrench to remove the pin from the caliper that goes through the holes in the pads. Figures it was missing from my only metric set. Also the 2 mounting bolts to the fork is a 12 point 10mm socket

Antiseize on teh sliders, if no piston pusher, channel locks work.

Not sure if SM talks about cleaning/scuffing teh rotors.
