yeah the o2 codes are either cause i test fired the bike with the inline v&h fuelpak disconnected (per harley techs suggestion) or my fuelpak isn't set perfect, either way more "nuisance" than anything. thanks for your response everyone. Ill be sure to post the end result. Thanks Pin.
New crank position sensor. no change. cleared the codes. reinstalled v&h computer. no change. no new codes. I've got the electrical diagnostic manual on order. unless I get some other suggestions, I'll be waiting till that's in.
You might want to take a look inside the fuel tank, heard of a couple guys here having fuel pressure regulator problems, one guy said it came apart in the tank.
Stealer could hook up and check the pressure output, but PIA getting it there.
my next step was going to be pull and clean the injectors and the fuel filter from the gas tank. the pressure regulator sounds like a big possible. how do I test it?
found an old post that says theres a retrofit kit for the fuel pressure regulator because they commonly go bad. ill call the dealer tomorrow and see if i cant get it for free, itll make up for unnecessarily buying the crank position sensor.
damn blum...sensor didn't do it huh? i doubt the stealer is gonna give it to you, prolly have you return the sensor and credit you towards the kit. should just be a few bolts to get the fuel pump out once you get the tank off.
Almost fixed. I bought the retrofit kit for the fuel pressure regulator. it consists of the stock o rings and screen plus a white plastic ring that you install under the screen. bike started right up. now its idling crazy. I let in run for about 20 seconds before it through the code PO505. which is Loss of idle control speed EFI. I looked thru the manual and you need the dealer software and computer link to reset the ecm. Called my local bike shop and luckily they have the everything to do it. cant fit me in til friday, but itll be less of a drive with a crazy idling bike and im not paying harley for service. If you cant do the work yourself then support you local shop.
spoke to bob last night and he brought me up to speed. just hope you'll be able to ride it there like that (especially without damaging anything). glad to hear you got it started. takin it to glenside?
