I want a new gas tank
I have a 91 with that little bitty peanut tank. It only hold little over 2 gallons so I spend lots of time at the gas stations. Anyway I want a bigger fatbob type tank that'll let me get some miles on before I have to refuel. I want to reuse my petcock & gas cap, not have to move key switch, and bunch of other stuff to make it work. You know just paint the tank, seal it, bolt it on, fill that baby up and ride. I've saw one I think I like at J&P's site that holds enough fuel but seems pretty pricey. So what I'm asking is what you have, where you got it, how much was it, and did it fit on your bike real easy. This isn't something I'm gonna do real soon but I gotta have a list and the tanks on the top right now.

Hey in kniw what you mean mine holds a lil more than yours and i still hate it. I was told to check out this company called paughco. They pressur test their tanks before they sell them. All you have to do is fit it before paint. They make all types of tanks for all years. They can rang from lik 180-425. Check them out

Around the time your bike was made Harley did a model with a larger tank, like an FXR style, called a Roadster IIRC. May be worth googling and taking a look on ebay to see if any tanks turn up. Earlier XLs had a larger tank too, the peanut tank only being fitted to the sporty version. So there is scope to find a genuine Harley tank that will fit.
debrix cycles has oodles of options, havent had any personal experiance with them... but find myself lurking on there website quite often
