Cool thanks for the tidbit.
I think first I'm going to try scoring it with the dremel and using a straight screw driver, failing that I'll try using a screw extractor. I just don't want to get to the stage of drilling it out as I think that will bring more problems.

Just try not to drill it with a bit bigger than half the diameter, a touch bigger is OK.

The thing worries about drilling it out, isn't the shavings going to go into the tranny??
That's my major concern.

For 1, You don't need to drill the hole all the way through the bolt. Judging the depth you need from the already removed bolt.

For 2, You can drill it all the way through. Cause left handed and right handed drill bits extract shavings up and out of the hole being made. At the worst a couple little chips might could fall in the primary but there is also a magnet on the drain bolt that will catch them. Plus at the size they'd be, they wouldn't do any harm.

So your a stripped bolt virgin? LOL

Ok thanks
But If I just drill off the head so that the inspection plate can come off I still got the bolt in and it then needs to come out.
Yeah I'm a strippedscrew virgin hehehe.
I might buy a cheap hammer drill after this.
It looks scoring it is not an option as I would need a wide screwdriver
I might try the screw extractor and then if no go drill off head and go from there
I'm just panicked about sh*t getting in there. Lol

WOOHOOO. I'm no longer a stripped screw virgin
Extractor worked
First tried and wouldn't budge with extractor and drill started smoking hehehe
Applied some heat same thing. So I applied heat again and put a wrench on the extractor and reefed on her. Out she came.
Oil seemed low so the oil change should make things feel better I think.
Gotta go warm ride to drain off the oil finally.
Thanks to the all guys for saving me some cash !!!

Congrats. Next time keep some oil on the drill bit to help keep it from getting so hot.

So to answer my initial questions and thoughts. I ended up putting Formula1 oil in there instead of the 20w50 the previous owner had.
Didn't really get a BIG WOW factor but I did notice it slips into neutral pretty smooth. The old oil looked pretty good and hardly any shavings on the oil drain plug magnet, so that's a good thing.
