headlight power drop

headlight power drop

Hello forum

I am trying to figure why my headlight looses its power when i hook it up.

1. i tested the voltage going to the main 3 prong headlight harness and i see almost 12v
2. when i put the light into the the harness with the electrical leads still hooked up it drops all power at a slow rate about 5 sec total before i read 0v.
3. i testd the light by using a 12v battery with leads and the light is good.

How good is your battery? Does it do the same thing when the bike is running?

battery is good. just figured it out and even the little things slip my mind like a proper ground, which in my case was the verdict. i just didnt have it grounded properly. thanks

It funny how sometimes the simplest things can give us the biggest headaches. lol
