How do ya check the oil, change the oil on a 1200 sportster?

 

The oil dipstick pops out on the right side panel.

 

Were on the clutch spring. I think here. Know for a fact on my bike were dealer put it and recommend amount puts it there. Also if you fill it from there to it just run out the cover it take another quart. Appears low but when you consider the ring gear is totally submerged its like a dishwasher in there and you do not want clutch under oil. With my bike if it's not dripping I rarely worry about level in primary or transmission. Checked it early this spring. Probably do it again if it needs it or not next spring.
