Is the fork of the 48 larger than on other Sportsters? Seems that the mini apes I saw on other Sportys don't look that good (as in the base of the handlebars is wider than the triple tree).
Yes the triple tree is wider there are many different bars tho just find the size u like i beleive mine are 5.5 from inside to inside an the bottom where they start to bend up but their realy 6.5 cuz the bars an inch in diamatrr and im real happy with how they look. Posion the steve in my oppinion its well worth it my throttle and clutch cables were long enought and i made my own wire extentions im a mechanic so were have lots Wire laying around so i mached the colors up pretty close and soldered them so that was time consuming but free and the front brake ran me about 50
Wow yea my wires worked but were pretty freaking tight when i turned the bars and looked like crap cuz i couldnt tie the wires to the bars but its realy noot hard to extend the wires just need a soldering iron also i had to remove the tank but no biggie
Some guys told me I just need a lighter to use on the heat shrinking tubes...I hope so because I work on my bike in my apartment building garage and there is not power outlet there, so I can't plug any soldering machine.
Yea a lighter works just fine and if u buy the wire kit u dont have to solder but i just soldered my wires cuz it was free and i have a soldering iron that works on butane no electric
Nice 48! I just got mine about a month ago. Same year, in black. Have been thinking about the mini-apes too but wanted to see how it looked. After seeing the pic you posted I have decided it is a must! Looks bad-***!! Where did you get yours from? Are they the HD mini-apes or after market?

haha thanks yea i was the same way i was unsure at first but i did it and LOVE it the pics do not even do its justice it looks bad *** i get lots of complements when im out on it too and i got them at a local shop beleive their drag specialties. and it was pretty easy the wire connectors are barried under the tank so u mush remove the take to do the extentions but its easy the throttle and clutch work and the brake lines easy just bleeding it sucks.
