So I go to work on my brakes and get my work area all set up and then I discover that the bolts on the calipers are a 12 point deal ...$%@#$^&%@&^%^#&%$%^&# ...WTF, COME ON HARLEY!!! ...regular hex would have been just fine. Now I gota go by some 12 point sockets .... Why on earth there are so many different types of bolt heads on my bike is beyond me. Going to go work on the punching bag now...
I have a set of metric 12 point sockets and the 10mm is a perfect fit, but I'll probably get a set of standard 12 points for this job later on when it comes up.
I hate 12 point anything. I feel they are way too easy to strip.

All Harley (Showa) front fork assemblies are metric. I could have a case of Alzheimer's today, but I don't recall needing 12 pt SAE on the Sporty.

Thanks, that is good info to have.
I got really used to metric bikes where pretty much the entire bike is metric, HD seems to have a decent mix and match thing going on.
I have a pretty complete set of 6 points in both metric and SAE, including impacts, but in 12 I only have a metric set.
After a lot of wrenching on my cars and bikes, I eventually broke down and bought an electric impact driver and that has been one of the best things I've ever bought myself. We salt the roads here in IL, and that results in things like brake caliper bolts on cars rusting to the caliper mounting bracket like *crazy*. I broke one off last year and had to break out the blue tip wrench to get that sucker loose, oh man that was an afternoon of obscenities coming from my garage....
Well I am now the proud owner of two 12 point socket sets (metric & SAE) courtesy of O' Reilly Auto Parts.
I first bought the standard ...after all, a Harley Davidson being American made uses all standard fasteners, right? ......WRONG. Drove all the way back to O'Reilly and picked up the metric set.

#$@$%@%^@$%#$@### !!!!!!
Is there really some place that says HD's are American made?
