Default ignition systems

So I just did my first season on my 2005 1200C sportster. I put V&H short shots with a SE heavy breather and had the carb rejetted. I need advice on what ignition modules, coil, wires, plugs would be good for my sporster or if I'm just throwing cash out the window?

what else are you wanting to do to it... stock works for most applications... plugs are personal preference.

Look for a good single fire ignition. Might want to look at some cams too.

For the parts you mentioned, go with stock. If you need to replace anything (plugs, plug wires), go with what's cheapest, they're usually all pretty standard. The plugs Harley uses are just rebranded, I can't remember what they're actually called but the markup is huge.

for the most part, an aftermarket ignition is a waste of money unless you get cams which are useless unless you get the matching headwork. If you're gonna do it, you may as well do it right. (There will be many differing opinions on this) Call a shop like Zippers or the like and talk to them about it. Dan at Zippers is a real straight shooter, he will steer you in the right direction.

If you do all of the above, look into a good single fire coil and a programmable ignition module. They go hand in hand. I run the twin tec and am very happy with it.
