Cycle Shack Slip-Ons - First Impressions
I just picked up a used set and spent the last hour or so putting them on. The install was pretty straight forward except the rear muffler was a bitch to get off. Before the Cycle Shacks I was running stock mufflers with 3/4" holes in each of the baffle plates. I didn't really like that mod as I thought the sound was too high pitched and rough sounding and I also lost a significant amount of low-end oomph.
I fired her up for the first time with the new pipes and DAMN it sounds sweet! Way deeper than I even hoped for and while they're loud, I don't think they're obnoxious and I'm not too worried about getting pulled over. It sounds outright mean now! I've ridden another N with V&H Side Shots and I actually prefer the CS's. They seem deeper and with far less of the metallic sound I noticed from the V&H's. The V&H's win in the looks category hands down though.
I'm running a stock AC (until the K&N Air Charger that I ordered comes in) with XiEDs and it runs strong and I only noticed a backfire when I nailed it and then rolled off the throttle abruptly.
I thought I'd post my impressions in case anyone else is on the fence and not sure what to do for an exhaust. For under $100 and an hour in the garage, I really don't think you can go wrong. Ride on...

Ride, you're dead on. I'm still blown away at the sound out of these at the price they go for (even if I had bought them new). Cheers from one Michigander to another!
