I have a Le Pera, it did improve comfort, and it lowered my sitting position too
Due to the deeper curve, and no more sliding around, I think it flows with the lines of the bike too
Mustangs are nice and comfy, but a little too big for the bike or my personal taste..
My vote goes to the bare bones as well. Comfortable enough seat and it does hold you in well whilst looking like it was suppose to be on there. I had the Mother Road on the frame seat on the bike for a week and whilst it was pretty cool to look at it actually made my 48 look unfinished and very small! (admitting it aint a bike big to start!) In regard to comfort on the roads here it was like someone was sticking a knife in my spine everytime I moved....
Just get the wide Mustang solo seat. No one can see it when your butt is in the saddle and I'd rather be comfortable while I ride than have my bike look cool while parked. And the seat looks good enough.
There are plenty of threads on seats, for further research, it is a popular subject! Bear in mind that comfort is also affected by the poor suspension and better quality shocks will improve the ride in many worthwhile ways.
