I installed SE SP mufflers today. I don't want to start an argument about whether they are loud enough. They are for me (and my wife). But when I was trying to decide what to do with my exhaust (I knew the stock pipes had to go), I had a hard time finding useful information because nobody posted before and after videos of their bike so you couldn't see the difference the change makes. You can hear what they sounded like installed, but you don't know about the equipment used, the location of the equipment, etc. On YouTube it's hard to really evaluate the sound. So when I installed mine, I decided to do before and after videos with the same camera in essentially the same position to help others going through the same research have some basis for comparison.
Here is what my 1200 Custom sounded like with stock mufflers
If you want to know, for me HD SEs is the best sound possible.
Not too loud like short shots.
It can be low or high...you control it at throttle. Does not disturb you during long trips and others riding behind you.
nice video....I have done the same thing but I was going to splice the before and after videos together. Just havent gotten around to it yet. You beat me to the punch...good job.
I too was pleasantly surprised by the sound of the SE SP Slip-ons. Quite a bit of an increase (not obnoxious though) and a nice deep rumble. Couldn't be happier.

Yeah, I was hoping to be able to splice the two together into one video, but I don't think the programs that I have can do that. Or at least I couldn't figure it out.
Go for it. I think that would be even more helpful than what I was able to do.
Bike sounds awesome man. I have SE II slip-ons on my scoot, I remember reading somewhere that the SE II's were discontinued and replaced by the SE SP's. not quite sure if this is correct, or where I'm going with it... but yeah, night and day difference between stock and the new pipes man. sounds effing sweet.
One question..
Is there any way to control your idle? I know our bikes are different (you have EFI and I'm carbed) but to me (and I don't know **** about bikes) it sounds like your idle RPM's are pretty high. again i have no idea what i'm talking about. haha

Thanks. I had the 7500 mile service done in August and they checked the idle then. I think it is fine. (I rolled on the throttle in the video in the middle, but it was at idle at the beginning and end.

The idle on our EFI bikes is electronically controlled. With the stock setup the only way is through software not typically available to the owner. Some of us have it.
Excellent, this will help quite a few people I'm sure.
I went with a set of Cycle Shack slip ons because I got them for a very good price, they arrive on Monday and I can't wait to finally make this bike sound like a real harley.
My bike had the SE sp slip on's on it when I got it and I hated them, but i'm a loud bike guy. I have open pipes now and love it. For the money I feel there are alot better slip on's out there that look just as good and sound alot better.
