When you change the valve on the shocks you're just swapping out the air hose fitting for a shraeder valve fitting, it's fairly simple and takes just a few seconds. You're not messing with the internal valving. They'll bolt straight up.
Thanks for the info! I read a bit more about the Legend's and they seem really sweet! Where the hell is my dollar tree?

I dont think you have to pull the air lines on the RK shocks im actually planning on leaving the lines in when I put mine on (hopefully tomorrow) and other than adding some washers they bolt up pretty easy

Not gonna lie. My girl hated my stock badlander seat. So I bought one of these for her. She loves it. Her only complaint is that it sets her a little bit higher, and shes short so it makes the pegs almost out of her reach.

My suggestion is what I plan on doing. Get a mustang vintage solo seat (I've heard nothing but good things!) and then get a wide passenger pillion for it. When she's not on it, you'll have the solo seat on and it'll look sweet. When she decides to ride, she'll be sitting on the wide seat, so its not like people will make fun of you. The only issue is when you stop for food...but at that point...who cares.

The Mustang seat looks more bulky than my stock 2-up. That's not what I'm looking for. I'm sure it's comfortable but I want, at least when I'm riding solo, the sleekest setup possible.

Another (much more expensive) option would be to get her a bike of her own?

if you're on a budget (total cost less than $100-120)
just go for 13'' rk air shocks and lowering blocks.
i ride with my wife and my sister occasionally. and the ride is simply a beauty. we all love it.

and if your dad's a zillionaire, go for progressive's air shocks which can be adjusted from the handle bar. they ride better. but not that much better in a sportster.

A gel seat pad will help a lot. Still with a lowered bike you only have so much shock travel to deal with before the road irregularities are bumped right into your tailbone(s).

Kinda agree on this recommendation, or start saving for a larger bike for you. Not to bash your bike, but how much $$$ do you want to invest for few small 2-up trips...?? If your sweetie plans to stick around a bit & enjoys riding - time to start looking at Softail or Dyna. Keep the Sporty as your short-tripper...

I actually just talked to my dad, he's got a set of factory air shocks off his '11 Road Glide Ultra. I believe they're 13". If you're interested PM me.
