So about two weeks ago I put on the new HD black drag bars on my Iron, I loved them but the stock speedo just looked out of place. I looked at a lot of the options out there and decided to go with the $15 autometer clamp since I didnt have an extra $200+ bucks plus another hundred or so for a different clamp. Luckily my neighbor helped me out and this is the final product ... The front of the clamp required the most work cuz it had to be sanded down a lot and grinded and than painted ... I couldnt be happier and in total it only cost $17.99
you do not have to cut anything. u can buy the autometer clamp and buy a new handle bar clamp for about $20. you will have to either relocate your dummy lights or just tie them up under your eye brow. that way you can keep the stock parts
Yea you could do that but I like the way the dummy lights still have a housing on the stock clamp ... looks better than buying a different clamp and using tape to keep it on imo ... plus why buy even a 20 dollar clamp when you have a perfectly good one already ! and if you really want a "stock clamp" you could always buy another one ( why you would want one if you relocate speedo anyway lol )
Stock clamp off an 03 Custom has the slot for the indicators already. Just pick up the custom jewel/bezel too and swap your indicator lights out. No butchering stock parts, no wire splicing.

Looks good man. I always wondered what the front end of that clamp would look like after being cut. It came out pretty clean.

Thanks man I have to say tho it didnt look anything like that after the initial cut, there was a lot of sanding and had to grind off some metal that looked like a fang infront of where the dummy light housing is. I just like the fact this looks "stock" which is the best custom job in my opinion because it looks like it fits the bike. There are a lot of options out there people go with that look awesome this is just one
