Hi,
I'm looking for my first motorcycle. I came across a 1998 HD custom sportster 883 hugger with a few extras which I have no clue what value they add to the bike. CUSTOM STRETCH TANK WITH GHOST FLAMES, KURYAKYN FORWARD CONTROLS, CORBIN SOLO SEAT
Also the choke it self works but is just hanging there, seems to me the end needs to be replaced. With 5k miles on it the original owner.
Price $3,000. Will a heel toe shifter work on this bike? How does the price sounf to you guys/gals? Thanks, Tom
The choke is just hanging becuse it won't stay out when you pull it out. He uses a small pair of vice grips to hold it out until it's warmed up. It's hanging for easy access to do that. Not sure how to post pics.
the quick and easy way is just put your camera memory card in the computer, the from the page where you reply, click on the paper clip, select the files, and click upload.
Yes that's the pic of the 1998 883 hugger. Seabee thanks for taking the time to reply and thanks for your service to our country. Anyway what's your thoughts on value? Tom
From what I've seen, 3k is about the going rate. Provided it was well maintained, the tires are good, and it doesn't have any major leaks, you are probably looking at a fair deal. If he doesn't have any records, the tires are cracked/bald, has leaks, then figure out how much those are gonna cost and offer him less. either way you are gonna need to work on it now and then (or pay somebody else). Oh yeah, make sure it has a good (not salvage) title!
Looks like a fair price! You can always offer less! The enrichener/choke is an easy fix! If you have doubts! Take it to a shop and have it checked out before you buy!
