Today I feel like spending a little cash and will be heading to my local HD shop.
If i buy the SE heavy breather is it just a bolt on part or will I need to have them do a doenload of some sort? I did have the 1200cc upgrade done to my iron 883 and they did a download already, but they told me I need a separate $150 download for the air cleaner.
It's not that simple.
All their downloads are EPA compliant. That AC download will probably do nothing but raise the redline, fuel mapping will stay the same.
I can tell replacing the air intake, exhaust and ECM will make a hell of difference and really unleash the power of a 1200.
Not sure how well all this complies with CA regulations.
IMO if you have the 1200 kit and do not have a tuner then you are not getting the most out of the kit at all. You can get the HB, but it besides looking cool it willnot do much. I would looks into getting a PCV or Race tuner as well and then have it dyno tuned and you will really love your bike.
But if the dealer installed the S/E 883 to 1200 kit before delivery, they would of had to use the SERT to do a download and the kit comes included with a S/E A/C. And a dyno tune will always help.
