I installed mids on my 48. Easy. Came off a 2014 nightster. Included all bolts, controls, and rear brake rod.

I prefer mids as I have more control over the bike and have a short inseam.

Yes..the mounts and pegs are the same. You would need the rear brake rod for a 2014 Nightster though and a shift lever for mids.

Just put mids on my '14 xl1200x as well. Great choice, i'd like to switch the pegs to something different. I used the stock forwards that came with the bike. For me, it was for control of the bike. I'll get highway pegs in the future.

Which mids did you put on your bike? I'm trying to figure out if the 2014 bikes are compatible with other year bikes.

You need a few things more. Foot pegs, shift lever, rear brake rod...can't use a brake rod from a 2013 or older. The 2014 rear brake rod is different. Look on eBay. I got a complete set of mids from a 2014 nightster that a guy put forwards on. It was 100% complete. $100 with free shipping.

right on. Maybe I'll ride with the forwards a little more until I see someone with a 2014 nightster mid controls that's willing to trade.

So I was able to swap out my forwards with a buddy of mine who has a 2014 iron 883. THe only thing was his right brake pedal was a bit scrapped up. He said he would get me a replacement. My question is, will a 2013 or 2012 brake pedal work on a 2014 setup?
