I'm no expert, all I know is they work...And the bike did run even better after I rode it all day after install. Closed loop is where most people do the majority of their riding.
Are they as good as SERT with a quality dyno tune? Absoultly not.
For 100 bucks it is the best value out there for a new harley.
I have read a lot about the delphi also but would rather be riding on it then reading about it. There is more quality info on this subject on nightrider.com then most 5 sites put together. I have talked to the owner and he will actually steer people away from his product if he feels it's not right for where they want to go with their bike.
If you have an extra 800 bucks lying around after doing the pipes and A/C then don't buy the product. For 100 bucks there is no bigger bang for your harley, period!
Dude, get a dam life. You act like your an expert in mastering the HD EFI system. You obviously read and read and read and have no actual experience dealing with it. The OP is just another happy X14 customer and you come on here and throw a red flag because he is happy, just like all of the other customers of this product. You copy and paste stuff all the time about the EFI system that you've read. Get some hands on experience with the system and then we'll actually care about what your saying.
My life is riding my bike(s). I want to know all about them. I'm not going to go and be a mechanic again just to get some knowledge or impress YOU with my cred. (I was a certified BMW mechanic in the 80's). I have two EFI bikes, have had a Thundermax/autotune, and a couple of piggyback tuners.
I decided not to come here and spout off like an expert, instead being clear that I'm just learning, but that I have come across a lot more hard, clear evidence than is typically offered here. Heck, in this thread alone, someone from Nightrider apparently told one of their customers that the Delphi EFI system has a learning ability! They're selling products based on systems that at least one of their customer facing employees doesn't understand worth a damn.
You guys can keep replacing parts until something works, or you can understand exactly what is going on. I choose the latter of the two. I don't need to impress you with "mechanic cred" in order to be right.

THANK YOU!!! I'm glad someone else see's this too.
It's pretty funny, in the title of this thread did not ASK anyone how EFI worked or whether the XIED's actually work, and yet I get someone who must have fallen short in the wet boxer contest spouting the gospel about HD EFI and XIED's. Again, I didn't ask.
As I said before, I did my research by calling Nightrider directly and liked what I heard. My girlfriend rode the bike and was absolutely stoked on how responsive the bike was (she's only been riding for about 3 months). I rode it and having more than 25+ years experience with different types of engine building and the same amount of experience on a motorcycle, I liked how the bike ran. They have a good product and I was giving kudos to Nightrider and even MORE kudo's to the seller and his efforts put forth towards me.......that's all I intended when I started this thread. Nothing more.
I bought them here on the boards from Carilliterate. He absolutely rocks!! He gave me a GREAT price, shipped fast, and when I asked if he had directions for the install, he went outside and snapped pics of his bike and the plugs that they plug into AND edited the pics with install notes...all the day before Thanksgiving!! Talk about going above and beyond for someone!! HUGE thanks Carilliterate!! You rock and I owe you a beer next time I'm in Vegas!!
Ok...I'm pulling the trigger on Xieds. How easy was it to install and set? Can you post the pics Caril sent you?

Just unplug the connector for the o2 sensor and plug the xieds inline between the stock o2 connector and zip tie the xieds to the frame and your done. Simple as that.
