When I was laid up in bed back in 2010, not knowing if I was going to walk unassisted again, I bought one of those trike axles and a Dyna that has been laid down.
Was gonna build a trike.
Have since sold both.
But your pics bring back a lot of good memories of all the pain-killer induced plans I had of building a tricked out old school trike...that is a lot of what kept me going when I could not even get out of bed to go to the bathroom!
Really looking forward to your progress on this project! COOL COOL COOL!
Love to see your work no matter what it is, and I'm prob. in the minority here, but I HATE trikes. Can't imagine anything more worthless. I would seriously ride some sort of scooter or "fiddy" before mounting a trike. That said, not hatin' on your project / decision if you can buy that. Awesome work.
I have other bikes I'm trying to get finished before spring so I took this one to my storage building for now. The trike is so big I had to get it out of the way to work on anything else!
It's not a Nightster though...not sure how that came about. When it was a drop seat I had an 03 1200 in there but now that it's the way it is I will be using a 4sp 1100 from 86. I don't plan on drag racing this one lol.

I've seen a few of your posts lately and no matter how you jazz it up you still come across like a dick. Not hating though...see, you can't take offense because I stated that I'm not hatin' on you.
