I got my Fuel Moto MAP this AM and noticed all the ignition tables are zero'd out. I am assuming this is spark advance / retard and that this MAP will command stock timing?
What should I do about that?
How can I tell if the stock rev limiter has been raised?
Is there anything else that needs to be done after install such as TPS calibration?
They said they tend to ping when they add timing. Does anyone have a dyno or auto tuned 1200 with Short Shots and intake that would care to share their ignition table?
They also said to connect to computer and go to PC Tools and to enable the revextend feature. Not sure if they mean PC-V to laptop or to ECU, but I will try it out via laptop this evening.
I just checked a FM 2010 Iron MAP that just had Side Shots I think it was, and timing is advanced +3 at 80% throttle starting at 3k through 7k and +4 at 100% at 3k through 7k.
That was from over a year ago though too.
I requested a good starting point to start adding some timing.
I'm also looking for a good map for my sportster 48
I mailed fuel moto but no answer from them
If some one have and can send by mail
I have paython slip ons and k&n filter
I run the map from the pcv with rev extend
But i feel that it is just fuel and no timing
So i want a better one
We don't have a dyno around or a harley tuner
Hope for a good one
Thanks
It took about a week to hear back from Kevin @ FM, but I got my MAP. He also told me it's safe to add 2-3 deg. of timing, so I might try that in the same tables as the Iron MAP that I had.
I'm going to make my own ignition table using whittlebeast's MAPs here. Top is his, bottom is stock. I'm only going to use the stock MAP. This is pretty fun really.
...then I realized I had no idea wtf this was doing to the fuel tables so I went a little more conservative and loaded the MAP for a test fire. It fired right up and sounded better than ever...not sure if just in my head or what, but I swear it idles and sounds much better. I did pull the ham can off the stock cotton panty filter so that might have made it sound deeper too.
I just noticed that none of the fuel tables are completed after the 6k mark, once Rev-xtend is kicked in to 6400, it just uses the last known fuel table. I'm going to go ahead and alter the 6250 field to anticipate this somewhat.
