Well, after a few months in this shop, I finally get my bike back about 7pm last nite, after dark of course. Apparently nicotine withdrawal is an excusable medical condition, so this "certified" Harley mechanic couldn't show to finish the final job of pipe install, so the owner had to step in. Said Harley mechanic has worked a few days a week at most the past few months.
How do the pipes look? - pics attached. Note how the front pipe veers out & away from the bike. Not supposed to do that right?
So it turns out that I did need another part - for the front exhaust. What the H it's called I have no idea & can't find it on any parts diagram, etc. This shop drilled a hole in a small plate to use instead for this front mount bracket that attached to the engine bolt. I've heard it should have been included with the KT pipes. Guess I'll call the owner of KT.
Update: Rode it for 2 hrs today & sure enough the front pipe is already a golden brown near the cylinder/flange. With the front pipe bent out like that wouldn't that cause a bad seal at the cylinder?
Rear pipe is fine with no discoloration.
Thanks in advance for any mechanical input & no criticism of me for sticking with this shop.
As to if they put a nut on the engine bolt - no they did not. After looking at the picture that I attached above it looks like they just pounded that mounting plate on the bolt by the looks of the marks on my engine chrome behind it.
Not trying to bust your ***** bro, but those look pretty cheap. It's your ride, but I think I would put my stock head pipes on and get a set of slip-ons. I think it would look alot better. You can get a nice set on e-bay pretty cheap with a good sound. Sorry about your run of bad luck.
Oh, yeah, One more thing. Don't ever go back to that shop. They see you as an easy target. IMO.

But the bike was real cheap, bro! Much better than before, if you'd bother to research before posting. LMAO
Oh, & my question was: aren't the pipes supposed to be directly in line with each other? Thanks
