What is the oil level on your dip stick? You want it no higher than the 3/4 full mark, or you run the risk of oil pukeage.

I will check when I go home today. Where would the oil come out if there is to much oil?

It's never happened to me, but I have heard of oil coming out through the intake when the tank is too full. Probably backs up through the breathers.

I think I will go home and drain some oil and see what happens. Thanks for the inputs.

I don't think you want to drain the oil lines to the pump. It may lose prime because of trapped air. My 1991 XLH has a fitting on the downstream side of the pump to allow pump to prime if that happens. I've not had it happen, but it is mentioned in my service manual.

I just drain the tank, refill. Take off filter, add some oil to new filter, install, and drive.
