I have the throttle lock lever and it works ok. At highway speeds I find myself constantly having to push the level back into position after just a few miles but it still gives my throttle hand a much needed break.

It worked perfectly...with the stock rubber grips. Worthless with Black Diamond series grips.

I ran across this: http://throttlelocklever.com/index.htm which looks much more convenient/affordable for a poor college student such as myself...

But I wonder if there would be some kind of even cheaper way of doing it. I was thinking I could probably find something at the parts store and maybe make one myself. Any ideas?
I got that same lever a few years ago for my 2007 Heritage - works great after you get it tuned in to the right tension. Took me about 3 to 4 times of trial + error to get it right.

in the way-back days there was no government mandate for spring-return throttls. people rode for decades without them. the tensioning nut is there for your comfort and doesn't cost a thing. set the tension so the throttle stays put and adapt to closing it manually. you'll acclimate pretty quick.

That looks like a really good and cheap option and I will probably order one of those. Thanks for the reference!

No it doesn't. Have you ever tried using it with gloves? It's ridiculous!

for some reason when I throttle lock, my air cleaner bleeds oil out of the filter. So I don't throttle lock anymore. Tired of oil on my crotch
