You should try the helmet on to make sure it is a comfortable fit. They come in various shapes. Some helmets may be uncomfortable, or leave pressure points on your forehead. Try before you buy.

That being said, if you can also find a helmet meeting both ECE AND Snell approval (rare), you'll have the safest possible helmet. I wouldn't just go with DOT.
