sure is a little big for a 883. look like a gorilla riding a tricycle. if I was you. I'd do a dyna or a softail. with extended forward controls.

At the absolute least, get a 1200 with the appropriate accommodations (seat, bars, highway pegs, ect)

But from the sounds of it though, you need to be on a bigger bike.

I'm 6'2", 215 and had the same question before I bought my Sporty. I got a 1200 Custom. With its forward controls and the Sundowner seat I had on it, plus an engine guard with highway pegs, I was perfectly comfortable. I put lots of miles on it and rode a fair amount with my wife 2-up. With her 110 pounds added, we were carrying more than your weight and the bike was more than able to handle it.

My recommendation would be for a seat that is more comfortable and moves you back some (I have a Tallboy on my RKC, and I'm sure there is something similar for Sportsters). I suspect that you might find the 883 a bit underpowered after a time, so I would suggest a 1200, and a Custom for the forwards.

I'm going to say that you're probably going to be too cramped on a sportster.

Why not rent one for a day or three? That should give you all the answers you need.

if you got the money get a dyna, if not a 1200 isn't a bad deal, no way should you get an 883, your not going to be happy with it.
