This is how my stock cable is ran with both clips on the down tube. No problems what so ever.

Not sure if that even helps you lol...

Long story short it was a son of bitch internally wiring them but I finished them yesterday and all is awesome.

So far, Yes. I really like the look of the Frisco bars, and I definitely wanted them internally wired. The first side was a pain, the second side was a breeze. You learn as you go! I bought them directly from the Builtwell web site, and I'm very impressed with their service, packing, and the build quality of the bars, much more substantial than my stock factory bars. I still have to button everything up, and bolt things back together, plus I'm waiting on a brake line which should be here Friday. Hoping for a ride this weekend. I'll let you know how I like them..

Depending on your riser size a stock line should fit.

I ordered dimpled but decided to drill them. Externally run wires looked like ***. There is a good forum post on drilling bars, I consulted it and there are numerous posts about pulling wires. The 90 bend at the bottom of the friscos is a beeeeyotch. Just be patient. After hours of trying, i finally cut and soldered instead of trying to push the connectors through.

Good luck. I think they look great on a sporty.
I'm guessing if you bend the stock line you have to unclamp it from the bike where it meets the upper cable?

I got the dimpled bars as well and want to run the wires internally. Where do you drill for the wires?

Has anybody put these on a Custom using the stock riser/speedo combo? If so, do you have any pics of how it looks?

I'm starting to think these things must be very uncomfortable. I've read through almost 10 threads about the frisco's and nobody follows up after they ride with them installed. Are they comfortable or not?

Just got Biltwell Frisco's on my ride. I LOVE them. They put my arms now parallel to the road, or a little higher if I slouch ... which I usually do. (It had the OEM drag bars, which looked cool, but killed my shoulders and neck on long rides.) I also added the new Avon Air "velvet" comfort grips. They're very comfortable too, IMO.

So anyway, here's the nuts and bolts: I'm 6' tall. The Frisco bars have a 7" rise. The OEM riser is 5". That's a total of 12" -- therefore, I got the 12" Burlybrand cable & line kit for my model & year (which is the shortest kit they make.) Spoke to a "tech" at Burly who said that the cables in ALL of their kits are based on a 1 1/2" riser for ALL bikes. That means for MY bike, the cables would expectedly be about 1 1/2" too long (because: 7" bars + 5" riser = 12", but take away 1 1/2" for the "standard" riser height they figure into their measurement and you have 10 1/2", which is 1 1/2" difference from 12" kit.) END RESULT on my bike is that clutch cable could have been a few inches shorter, but it works fine (and is way smoother operation than factory.) The throttle cables could have been a inch or so shorter, but again work fine; and I always thought the factory cable were a bit tight anyway. ((If you want perfect lengths, you have to measure travel section of each cable, not including the fittings, and buy them all separately ... which costs a lot more, and doesn't include the wiring.)) My local chopper shop installed everything (including new switch housings) and internally wired the bars (so I'm guessing that the extended wiring that came with the Kit worked fine too.) Note: The Frisco bars are smooth (not knurled) so the shop knurled them first. It's been about 4 weeks and they still feel tight/no slipping.

On a side note, some people don't like the look of high bars on a tall sporty riser. I agree that the putting apes on the pulled back riser on later sporty's is not the greatest look, but on my 2002 "brick" riser, I love it, and don't care what opinion anyone else has.
