It sucks. Bandanas help but a bubble shield or full face helmet is best. If you know or think its goIng to rain just take a few minutes and put your fender back on. It's worth it.
Well hell...that sucks! lol...guess I should have had my fender powder coated just in case. Oh well. I'm hard headed as all hell and will have to experience it myself. Makes me want to chop the mounts off the legs so I can't.
SWEET! I say take the back fender off as well, looks hard core and i dont think you will get any wetter than you would with just the front fender off. took the front fender off the 48, rode to miami last october for work and i rained the entire time ( if not, it seemed that way) and i stayed soaking wet even with full face and full leathers. like previously stated, its like a " garden hose in your face" but ultimately it is up to you. I put mine back on when i got back from miami and its been on ever since.
There is a reason they started putting fenders on bikes many decades ago. The reason......rain. Oh, and if you decide you want to remove the tires and just run with bare rims, that's not gonna work very well either. But, what the hell, it might look cool.

Man, I almost fell for the bait! I was this close to hitting submit. Now I remember why I don't visit this forum on a regular basis.
Is anyone in here old enough to remember the first time you rode your new 10 speed bike right after it rained and the result? A motorcycle is about a thousand times worse and more dangerous. Not just for you but ones around you.
It ain't just the rain that'll get ya. Any sand or loose dirt on the road ends up in the same place - your face. Got nailed by a couple small stones too.
Some people just prefer the mainstream, comfort, and convenience...all at the cost of style and individuality. It just doesn't work for me and sometimes you pay the price. Honestly, if I had to ride a stock bike or even close to it, I just wouldn't ride at all. Best part is, I really don't care what people think about my bike because it's all for me. If my wife or son likes it, that's all that really matters. The rest is just icing.
