I'm going to build my own dream chopper and probably give my Sporty to one of my brothers. This is the bike I'm going to build - as close to this exact bike as I can get. My all time favorite chopper... (yours is a nice chop, btw!!!)
schwing, that's a sweet future chop you'll have. Curious though, why's there a little boy with long blonde hair standing over it?
Nah, that's cool - I didn't feel as if you were knocking my bike. Truth is - this is a baby step in my dream chopper direction. I was not enjoying riding my Sportster after buying my vrod, and I owned it outright, so it was an easy target for some customizing. I'm not trying to pretend its an awesome old chopper or anything which is the main reason I stayed with a hydraulic front end rather than a springer. Also, cutting the neck would have meant paint, and maybe stripping the motor (and the VIN is on the neck) out and it would get to be a pain and expensive. This way I have a bike that definitely looks NOT stock but retains the shocks for comfort and isn't too way out and funky to deal with.
Once this bike is done I'll play with it this summer, but starting next fall I'm going to build my own dream chopper and probably give my Sporty to one of my brothers. This is the bike I'm going to build - as close to this exact bike as I can get. My all time favorite chopper... (yours is a nice chop, btw!!!)
stickin a sporty motor in there right? or you gonna run the panhead motor like this one?
dying to see some complete shots of the chop dude but i'm sure youre dying more than me.
Actually I think it is going to look really nice, but hopefully not too outrageous as in reality it still is an EFI bike with no hardtail. However, that is what I like about it, great MPG EFI sporty motor, with a comfortable rear end (that's what she said...), that will turn heads.
Relatively sure it'll show up in a few mags as nobody really builds choppers out of their EFI, rear shock bikes. The chick I have modeling it won't hurt either. Here she is on the bike prior to chopping...
