Cool Jacket or No Jacket

Hello everyone
I live in south Florida and wear a jacket when riding. It will be getting hot soon,
Anyone have input. Jacket or no jacket. I do wear boots gloves and a helmet .

I have a mesh Joe Rocket jacket I wear in the summer.

I live in florida also (st pete), I only wear a leather jacket when is cold in the mornings, other than that, maybe my leather vest, or if not just a t-shirt...

Winter-Yes. Summer-Just too darn hot. I do have a mesh Joe Rocket jacket but still find it too hot here in Florida. Do wear jeans and 3/4 helmet no matter how hot.

The mesh jackets are the way to go for heat.

Nah it's just too hot in the summer even in NJ ... I usually just wear a t-shirt or if I'm going on a long wrong I got a mesh HD jacket I picked up on clearance rack ( last one size small ) kind of deal for 35 bucks ... Not a huge fan but for what I use it for its fine

I rode for three day in Florida in a 105 degree heat wave with my armored mesh jacket on in 2010. Last year I did Death Valley in the afternoon and the desert southwest with the jacket.

At 71 I don't bounce on the pavement like I did at 21. With the vents open and hydrating every 120 miles I had no problems.

Just how uncomfortable would road rash be in comparison to wearing the jacket?



My son's don't ride without the protective gear also.

In the Summer I wear a perforated leather HD jacket.
