I have a sportster and need some help on how to secure my bike in a wheel chock in my garage. I have purchased a harbor freight $15.00 wheel chock, mounted it on a 2x4 foot piece of plywood and need some help on how to secure the bike. I thought that it was possible to lock the forks in a straight postion, but when i tried it they only lock in a left or right postion. So, how do you secure the bike in a chock without it tippping? And where do I need to tie it down? Sorry if this has been covered before, but when I did a search all I get is a lot of different opinions of how to move a bike across the country. I just need to know how I can stand my bike up straight in my garage so I can install my easy-clutch. Thanks. Janet
Hi Janet - I know you have the $15 version, but I think it would be better to return it and get the larger (P/N 97841) one. There is a discount code to get it for about $50 delivered to your home.
I have it and I know Rog does too. With it, there is no need to tie your bike down at all. Once you roll it up on it, it isn't moving anywhere without a cow-tipping effort. Here is a recent thread that includes a pic of my 48 on there.
