I bought them for my 1200C w/forward controls for the same reason and wound up not using the "swing" function. The swing peg moves your feet outwards more than forward. They are more comfortable though than round pegs when the "wing" is closed, like a small set of foot boards. I'm much happier using them closed and with the highway pegs on the engine guard.
