possibly painting my nightster, any ideas?
Ok so I have a small bit of rust on it...yea figure that out. Thinking I should handle it before it gets out of hand. The bike is the standard black/black but I was thinking of keeping the tank black and fading it to a really dark blue maybe dark pearl blue to the tips of the fenders. Has anyone else painted their bikes, found problems they ran into? Also open to detailed ideas, I'm probably not going to go all in with pinstriping and other over the top things. I am on a budget which is why no one else is doing it. I'll be using an hvlp gun as well. Just wondering what type of paint anyone has used/prefers. Thanks guys!

I wish house of Kolor was around when I painted mine the first time. It's good stuff. I painted mine with dupont about ten years ago, and it still looks pretty good, but there's a few spots where the flames have heaved up where they didn't adhere that well to the base coat. Just make sure you use compatible primer/base/clear, and pay close attention to the "flash" time of newer paints. good luck!
