Have a 2005 Sportser XL with a 90-21 front tire (stock tire) having problems with tire tracking on these hilly billy roads in Arkansas. Have talked to HD the tell me that my standard rim will take a bigger tire but has to be in/de flated when removing/installing (not a big problem) have any of y'all put a larger front tire on your sporty and with what results? thanks
I have a 2005 XL1200R that comes with the larger (wider) 100 tire - one of the reasons (but not the only one) that I bought the "R". It is always good to have as much rubber on the ground as possible when riding, unless you're just cruising around town.
If the your rim can honestly take a larger (100-110) tire - go for it! You won't be sorry, in fact you'll be very happy with it - and who cares about de/inlation when putting it on or taking it off - that has to be done any way!
