Default Help!!!

I was installing a new shifter peg and when tightening the screw for the shifter back on I kind of broke off the head of the screw. I forgot about my friends insane Hulk strength.

What should I do with this? How do I get the screw out and when I retighten it how do I know when it's tighten on enough?

In the pics below you can see the headless screw.

I guess you will have to drill the screw and use an "easy out bit" to remove that screw. I can't think of any other way to do that task.

agree. when you get it out and go to put the new one back in, get it pretty tight and put some blue locktite on it just to make sure it doesn't back out.

later,

1- Small drill bit, smaller than 1/8"
1a-3/16' drill bit
2-PB Blaster
3-Spray PB Blaster liberally around broken stud, let soak in for about five minutes
4-Very carefully, and very slowly drill thru the center,or very, very close to center of the remains, using the smallest drill bit
5-after drilling thru with the first bit, step up to the next bit and drill thru the remains
6-tap in the easy out and remove the remains

If this seems to much for ya ship it to me, I'll have it out for ya before the FedEx guy gets outta sight.

It's called a screw out.I have a set and when I used them they did not work.It may work for him though because the head is missing.Ifhe didn't put loctite on the threads it should come out fairly easy.

I agree...it gets a bit annoying at times when fellow workers will bring me parts that have broken bolts or screws in them fo me to remove but so far in my years of doing this in exhaust manifolds, cylinder heads, or expensive components in the factory, NEVER have I not been successful...I can say it definately tests my patience sometimes but the challenge is half the battle!

the company I work at wont buy us PB so I have my own personal can in there that is mine because it is so good
