It happens. I let my wife ride mine out to dinner one night and she dropped it right in the parking lot. She was freaking out and I was laughing my *** off. Only damage was a slightly bent front brake lever. Heal up well, and remember you can always buy more chrome. Let the bike drop. Damaged parts = excuse to upgrade

Dropped mine the first night I had it going into the garage. Fact is with anything new, when your not used to it, thats when **** happens the most. It would be abnormal for you not to drop it :}

The horror is when you do it. I am a new HD48 rider, but dropped (actually, slammed!!!) a bike 20 years ago into an a-hole making an illegal u-turn and stopping RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, whilst I was doing 168km/h!!!

Scary-stuff, but got over it. I now drive with an attitude of "All motorcar drivers are retarded." Have to think for them and boy, even with full brights and the loudest of pipes they will still jump lanes, just when you least expect it.

In your case, thank God you only scraped a couple of things. It is a lesson well learnt.

Back on your horse girl. Little damage done and lesson learned. Hope you'll be on it soon.

Rida, don't be too hate on yourself. Sounds like you know why it happened so that's half the battle. Engine guard is your friend. As you can see from the posts above a lot of people drop their bike. None thing to remember when doing those slow parking lot moves is to stay off the front brake. Just use that rear brake when going slow and in those tight turns. You'll be fine! Take some Motrin, put ice on those sore muscles and then get back on and ride.

It happens. When I was getting mine ready for the road, I stopped by the stealership to ask questions, a group of people came in and asked for inspections. The guy behind the counter told them to just ride it into the parts area showrrom. Next thing you know, one by one they rode in. Third one to come through went down still holding onto the handle bars just outside the doors. After being pulled from under the bike and bike is back up on kick-stand. Says to guy behind the counter "and could you throw in some new turn signals while your at it.

Dropped mine the first mile.

I don't think it's so much "those who have laid it down and those who will" I think it's more "those who have laid it down and dirty ****ing liars."
