I have a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 trike basically it died i went to start it and it briefly started then spluttered and hasn't started since I've had a new battery and circuit breaker and nothing then i had a bike electrician come round and has told me that the rectifier regulator has blown and all the electronics this included the ignition, speedo, indicators and possibly the ECM does anybody know if this has had this happen before or what could have caused it as the electrics bloke is unsure if we replace everything that it won't happen again unless we can find what caused it if the first place if no joy a total rewire might be on the cards thanks
An 88 doesn't have much in the way of "electronics" and certainly no ECM.
Why not start with listing, what does work on the bike, and what does the battery voltage read, including the digit to the right of the decimal point?

It does have an electronic regulator and ignition system. Harley are not given enough credit for going electronic long before some other bike brands!
hayk78, which Walsall do you live in?! You need to give us more to go on, as cHarley asked. If you have had a catastrophic failure of your alternator or regulator you could have cooked a lot of stuff, although that is rare.
